Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) and Nordic Ukraine Forum to host event on higher education in Ukraine

Welcome to an event hosted by the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) in collaboration with the Nordic Ukraine Forum. Join us on 6th of February, 2024, to explore and support the critical cause of higher education in Ukraine. Don't miss this meaningful discussion and mingle with Ukrainian music and art exhibition!

Ukrainian musical performances & art exhibition "Unissued Diplomas"

The event will feature musical performances by and , both renowned singers from Ukraine, as well as a violin performance by Sofia Kolupov, a British-Ukrainian violinist. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition which uncovers the stories of 36 Ukrainian students who tragically lost their lives in the war.

Theme of the discussion

The discussion will focus on the crucial role of human capital in the construction of modern Ukraine and its path towards a prosperous future in the European Union. While the importance of hard infrastructure is often emphasized in conversations about rebuilding, the role of higher education is not always highlighted. This event aims to address this gap and highlight the contributions of KSE in educating future leaders and providing policy analysis to guide reforms in Ukraine.

During the evening, Kyiv School of Economics (), SITE, and the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) will present their initiatives to support students and academics from Ukraine. Representatives from and will also discuss the importance and new opportunities for projects and collaborations in Ukraine. The success of post-war reconstruction in Ukraine depends on collective efforts to preserve and develop the country's human capital.
